Overview

The 79th edition of the Netherlands Astronomers' Conference (NAC) happened May 13-15, 2024, in Hotel Zuiderduin in Egmond aan Zee. The NAC 2024 was brought to you by the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy (University of Amsterdam).

Below is the conference picture. More pictures can be found at Google photos.

The NAC aims to gather the Astronomers spread out over the Dutch/Flemish-speaking parts of The Netherlands and Belgium. During the NAC, researchers have the opportunity to share their work to a broad audience by giving an oral presentation in a plenary or NOVA-network session or by presenting a poster. The NAC also provides a platform for contributions on education, outreach and diversity & inclusion. Finally, the NAC allows early-career researchers to explore and discuss career opportunities and for new researchers to present themselves and get to know the community.

The NAC 2024 featured a broad range of topics within Astronomy, including science, education and science communication.

The poster for the NAC 2024 below was designed by the NAC 2023 poster prize winner Stefanie Fijma (PhD candidate at the Anton Pannekoek Institute). A high-resolution PDF can be found here.
